Hiring plumbers in Alberta.
What to look for and what to ask. Or ask Rocky anything about plumbers.
How to choose a plumber.
What to ask before you hire, from Rocky.
Licensed plumbers for repairs, water heaters, renovations and new builds. Use this checklist when you compare plumbers, then ask Rocky if you want a second opinion.
- Plumber is a compulsory trade in Alberta: ask for their certificate of qualification.
- Gas work needs a certified gasfitter: ask if they hold that ticket too.
- Get at least two written quotes that list scope, materials, schedule and payment stages.
- Contractors who take money before the work is finished need an Alberta prepaid contracting licence. Ask for the number before you pay a deposit.
- Ask for a WCB Alberta clearance letter and proof of liability insurance.
- Read recent reviews and ask for references from jobs like yours.
